Location:
We are in Florida, so beach shoots are always fun with a great clean backdrop for your engagement pictures, & a great way to take advantage of the natural scenery we have here! Clearwater beach, St. Pete beach, and Fort De Soto are all great beach locations. My personal favorite beach to shoot at is Upham beach in St Pete.
In addition to beaches there are a ton of other beautiful locations to shoot your engagement session! Downtown Tampa offers a lot of options! It offers the riverwalk, parking garages, the Tampa theater, etc all offer great background for pictures. I have even done a shoot at the library. I do recommend combining locations if we are shooting downtown because there's only so many pictures you can take in front of the Tampa theater before it gets too repetitive.
Outfits & Styling:
I always get asked "what should I wear" when organizing couples and engagement shoots. Which I 100% do not mind and I love helping pick out outfits that combined with the location and your personal style I think will look best in photos. But let me try and give a few tips and some advice here first.
Firstly if you are wearing heels, you should 100 percent bring a change of shoes or at least walking shoes because blisters are no fun. If we are planning a beach shoot, I would skip the shoes all together except bringing sandals just incase we need to walk somewhere and its easier for you to wear shoes, I promise if you bring crazy shoes for a beach shoot you will end up ditching them anyways.
Outfit wise I usually recommend bringing a casual and more formal outfit incase you either decide you're uncomfortable, or if you decide before hand that you would like pictures in both! It gives us more options photo wise and makes it easier to curate a diverse gallery of engagement photos in one shoot. However this is totally optional and is about what you're looking to get out of your engagement shoot.
Color wise I will usually tell you that on a man a crisp white or black button up and with women a white or light colored dress or blouse looks best, however the shoot is about YOU if you love bright crazy colors and patterns and that fits your personality and that's what you want for YOUR pictures then lets discuss that and go that direction because at the end of the day these are photos you are taking home.
Themes:
Aside from location and outfits there is also a space for theming a shoot. If you and your significant other are huge book worms we can incorporate that into your shoot. If you are super artistic or want to get creative we can do a body paint couples engagement session in a field somewhere with you dancing around together.
These are just ideas, you could make it equestrian themed, (I have access to a barn and horses), or country themed, cooking, Disney, etc.
If you would like to explore theme options more then let's absolutely chat about that and figure out a way to make it happen and incorporate things you both love into this shoot!
How the shoot will work:
There can be a lot of stress surrounding a photoshoot especially if you have never had a professional photoshoot or aren't used to being in front of a camera. But it shouldn't have to be stressful, it should be super fun and enjoyable. I love my job, I love working with clients, I love you being there and I want you to love being there also so we can capture moments, memories, and pictures that you will truly love and have forever.
So the first step is to email or Dm me to book and we will talk about what you're looking for, locations, pricing, etc. After this step you will put down a deposit for the session which is $75.00, in the Q&A session of my website there's questions answered about turn around time, deposits, rescheduling, cancelation fees, etc.
You can also feel free to ask me about any of those things and more and I would be happy to chat with you via phone call or messaging. Ideally we would find a time to set up a phone call so we can get a clear idea of what you are looking for and establish things that are important to you when it comes to your engagement session.
